0.3 - Disney-cation

Welcome back all to another chapter of Wishing Upon a Star! We open up today with the twins attending homework in their parents' bedroom, for some weird reason.

ANNA - Arthur why are we in here? I can barely read the words, it's so dark.

ARTHUR - You know why. That OTHER one is in the kitchen.

ANNA - . . . don't you think you're taking this a little too far? He's our baby brother--,

ARTHUR - I'll not listen to your blaspheme!

ARCHIE - Lame. Legacy homework parties are supposed to be fun . . .

Yah, seems Arthur holds a grudge against his heirship competition, lol.

Walt and Molly, while busy with careers and aspirations, still find time to socialize.

MAXIMUS - I approve this PDA. :D

Wolly 4eva.

Anna has officially finished her Artistic Prodigy aspiration, and now that she can learn the violin skill she's picked up the use of said instrument quickly.

Just Walt doing his writing thing.

MAXIMUS - You misspelled homogeny.

There we go, that's a real legacy homework party. Though Arthur still managed to seat himself as absolutely far away from Archie as possible.

The next morning over breakfast . . .

ARTHUR - I know you did not just sit next to me . . .

ARCHIE - Oh nuts, uh . . . s-sorry . . . .

ANNA - Arthur, cut it out!

Archie went and hid under his blankets after that fiasco. Poor little guy.

Anna managed to get all grungy one morning. I think they hotfixed it to where they'll get 'stinky' now before they get covered in dirt.

Anna and Archie are feelin good after a day at school, while Arthur is inexplicably sad. That's karma for you, little buddy.

WALT - Who is this teenaged girl on my doorstep? Much suspicion. I have it.

That's just Arthur's friend Catherine Hammonds (formally Rainbow Unicorn), now a teenager apparently. And wearing a pair of unfortunate sunglasses.

Arthur took this opportunity to continue the socialization, though. For future reasons . . . :P

MOLLY - I'm happy to see you sitting next to Archimedes, Arthur. It's about time you stopped this silly--

MOLLY - . . . really, Arthur? Really?

ARCHIE - Don't worry about it mom, I'm used to it.

ANNA - I'm staying out of it.

WALT - Ditto, sweetpea. Ditto.

ARCHIE - *off camera* MOM!!!

MOLLY - Oh my goodness Archie! I didn't know you were in here Iamsosorry!"

ARCHIE - So . . . yah, my mom just walked in on me in the bathroom . . . . that happened . . . .

Poor kid.

All too soon it was time for Walt to have his adult birthday. Molly baked him a cake and then hurried off to work. Luckily the kids were on hand to help him celebrate.

Adult Walt! He's got a few new lines on his face but otherwise looks the same.

ARCHIE - Tell me why we can't have bacon and eggs again?

WALT - Oatmeal is more healthy.

ARCHIE - But it tastes like cardboard . . .

WALT - That's how you know it's good for you, son.

Archie would just like you all to know that he's completed the Rambunctious scamp aspiration and maxed his motor skill.

Meanwhile mom has started building a rocket ship. Her Nerd Brain requires she build and upgrade one.

Catherine is still coming by to see Arthur. Arthur was happy to have a chess partner for once rather than playing by himself.

She stuck around long after he went to bed, though. I finally had to reset her to get her to leave, lol.

CATHERINE - It's just . . . the board is so fascinating . . . .

WALT - Only you really know my pain, llamacorn.

LLAMACORN - Thanks for pressing my button!

WALT - Word.

What?

The rocket ship is coming right along! It's a good thing Walt's book royalties are starting to climb, that stoopid thing is expensive. -_-*

The next morning was a day of birthdays! Molly shared her adult birthday with the twins' long-awaited teen celebration. They all shared a blue-confetti cake, and Molly went first.

Then it was Anna's turn.

ANNA - I don't know how I feel about these confetti bombs, Archie . . .

ARCHIE - Don't question it.

And finally Arthur.

ARTHUR - Hmm . . . the frosting is quite tasty.

ARCHIE - If you only knew what was in it . . .

ARTHUR - What was that?

ARCHIE - Nothing! . . . ehehehehehe . . . .

Molly looks exactly the same, but I now present the very pretty teenaged Anna Disney! She rolled the Neat trait like her mom, and the super-fitting Musical Genius aspiration.

WALT - I approve!

So do I, Walt. So do I.

And of course her twin brother Arthur Disney! He rolled the Genius trait, another inherited from mama, and the Successful Lineage aspiration.

Anna got right to work on a grownup violin. She's already half-way to maxing the instrument.

Meanwhile Arthur starts building his logic skill. I'm trying to decide if I want to put him in the business career or the secret agent one.

And it looks like Arthur is still refusing to sit anywhere near his little brother . . .

ANNA - Too bad Art, this is the cool side of the table.

Molly cranky? Something is wrong with this picture. But luckily I know what can be done to fix it . . . .

Family vacation! The Disneys decide to head out for a few days of R&R at Granite Falls.

Molly immediately started roasting some marshmallows while Walt went off to buy some supplies (my first time vacationing in TS4 so I had no idea what I was doing, lol).

Now that their camp site had some actual things to interact with, the kids started a game of horse shoes.

ARCHIE - Wow . . . you're actually standing next to me? I'm about to die of shock.

ARTHUR - If only.

ANNA - Shut it, you two! I'm trying to concentrate!

Anna also started on her guitar skill, serenading the camp site with some rousing campfire songs. Walt was all too happy to play in the fire and enjoy the ambiance.

ARCHIE - Sweet! I can't wait to go to sleep in a real tent! It's gonna be so much fun!

Uh . . . yah. About that . . . .

Apparently the description is a misnomer. It can only fit 4 sims and your parents and siblings are already inside. So it looks like you get a cot instead.

ARCHIE - Laaaaaaaaaaaaame. :c

I like the new cloudgaze/stargaze interaction. Super-long inspired buff? Yes please.

At some point Walt went looking for the secret location, the Hermit's Hideaway. This little 'shack' is proof that he was successful.

And there's the hermit now! Say hi, Walt!

WALT - Hi! Are you my fairy godmother?

HERMIT - Wut?

WALT - You're supposed to use your magic and make all my dreams come true!

HERMIT - Sorry kid, no magic. I have some mushrooms that'll make you THINK there's magic, though . . . .

Walt declined, and went back to camp to spend more time with the family.

ARTHUR - I'm just saying mom, there's plenty of people around here that'd take him in. We don't HAVE to take him back home with us.

MOLLY - Arthur, I'm not abandoning my youngest son to be raised by hermits and bears. Give it a rest, or I'll leave YOU here instead.

ARCHIE - Lol, burn.

WALT - It's no use son, the fairy godmother is a lie.

ARTHUR - Um, what are you . . . dad? I thought we were playing Old Maid?

Walt's holding a grudge.

He tried his hand at telling a ghost story and immediately summoned this specter. Who commenced to interrupting everybody with 'OMG GHOST!' reactions. -_-*

You don't want to know how much trouble I had getting the whole family to sit at the camp fire at the same time.

And as soon as Walt tried to tell another story they all stood up. -_- UGH.

At least his story was well received.

But it was time to return to the home-front. Granite Falls might be more fun/beneficial if the sims have gathering aspirations like gardening or fishing, but otherwise it was kinda meh.

WALT - Llamacorn, I've got some bad news for you . . . .

LLAMACORN - Your life is a lie!

WALT - *gasp!*

Anna took an interesting approach to doing her homework . . .

ARCHIE - Doesn't that hurt your wrist?

ANNA - Some sacrifices must be made.

Except that one. I can almost promise you, not that one.

Oh, look who it is! Catherine's come by for another visit.

Time for Arthur to lay down the charm! She's quite receptive to it, too.

She happily accepts Arthur's request to be his official girlfriend. Much to his delight.

First kiss! And then obligatory selfie. :) Artherine? Carthur?

Ship name pending, the two of them spent the rest of the evening playing chess.

WALT - . . . and so you see, son, it turns out fairy godmothers are really just old ladies who live in the woods and eat too many mushrooms.

ARCHIE - Fascinating.

Archimedes didn't have time to be fazed about that revelation, though. It was boogie-down-time.

Time for Arthur to say goodnight to Catherine, and he proves unequivocally that he's Walt Disney's son.

ARCHIE - Mom, why was my llamacorn toy stuffed in the toilet?

MOLLY - Sometimes it's best not to ask questions, hon.

Wise words indeed. Hope you enjoyed this installment! One more (smallish) chapter to come and then it'll be time for the heir poll! Until then, happy simming!
